Barking Summer Camp Time

Updated: Jul 20, 2021

It's that time of the month! This BarkBox review is just in time for the summer heat and some fun in the sun.

One thing that our dogs love is this time of the month. The month of June's theme is summer camp appropriately named "Squeakaway Camp", full of fun camping themed toys and yummy treats. Here is what you get when you open it for the first time.

So here are the toys we received for a Large Dog sized BarkBox

Here is a review on the toys from this months BarkBox in more details. We always like to take them out to remove all the tags before packing them back up for our dogs to do the real review.

Remember, safety first for our furry loved ones!

Rudy The Nap Bandit

This little guy is a 2 in 1 toy! Rudy himself is a raccoon with a cute pair of underwear with his name on them. He is a large (extra large!) squeaker and a big hit with our pooches. His little sleeping bag contains a smaller squeaker with that fun crinkle that all dogs have come to love. So far his durability has stood up to our big chewers in the house.

Begging For S'More

So this is a yummy s'more made for dogs and chocolate free to boot. Packed with a bungee elastic for dual doggie play, crinkles galore, and two squeakers for more fun. This fun treat of a toy was great for Lola and Hank's tug-o-war play and ended up being one of the puppies favorites (especially for Suede). It seemed a bit on the dainty side but ended up being very durable as well!

Knock Knock Rocket Pup

Summer isn't complete without those classic frozen treats and this one is a throwback to the good ol' rocket pop. This toy is really built tough, packed with 2 squeakers, crinkle, and lots of stuffing! Only thing wrong with this toy was the answer to the popsicle stick was printed on backwards, but we don't think the dogs are going to mind one bit.

Who were the winning toys? Let's just say the icy treat beat the heat.

What about the treats?!

These are the delectable noms that were packed away. Clucky Yummies have no grains added and made with the first ingredient of chicken followed by chickpeas, potatoes/sweet potatoes, and flaxseed. They are a hard biscuit style treat and are great to take on our walks. The Swimmy Jerky Bars are a just what they say, salmon jerky! They are a super hit with our furry family and have no grains added. Last was the PurLove Duck Stick. These chews didn't last long but thankfully they were soft enough to cut into three to share with our pack.

Now for the true review from the dogs mouth

So what did our dogs really think when opening the June BarkBox? Well, lets just say Hank is a greedy pup but knows how to share.

So what is the long tail and the short of it?

June's box was delivered late for us but can completely understand due to the state of the world. Best part is that another box is on it's way so it'll be Christmas in July for our dogs! We also love the cute interactive things they include on the printed insert, this time it was a dog frendship bracelet so our Hanky boy wore one for a bit.
